I wasn’t sure about seeking mental health support at first. I’d always assumed therapy was for people with “serious problems”, but I could see that if I didn’t get help, I might end up heading in the same direction. I felt stuck. Work was getting harder to manage, I was stressed and low, and things with my partner were becoming distant. I’d slipped into a few habits that helped me cope in the moment but weren’t doing me any good in the long run. I just didn’t know what else to do.
Eventually, I decided to try psychotherapy. I thought, what’s the worst that could happen?
To my surprise, it wasn’t awkward or strange. It was actually interesting. Some sessions were emotional and challenging, but the process felt natural. We talked, I reflected, and slowly I began to connect the dots. I could finally see what was going on underneath everything.
Working with Andy gave me the space to explore my feelings and make sense of what I was experiencing. After engaging in stress and anxiety counselling, I feel clearer, more confident, and no longer stuck in the same place.
