Hello!
Finding a therapist can be challenging, after all, this is your life and struggles, and you want someone who is supportive, experienced, and empathetic. In my experience, the vast majority of therapists—around 99%, can provide valuable support. Taking the first step to connect with one is a meaningful and important start.
Step 1: Reach out and take advantage of the 15-20 minute free consultations most therapists offer. If the conversation feels promising, go ahead and book an initial session—this might be an assessment session to tell the therapist more.
Step 2: Ask yourself: Did they make you feel at ease? Do you think you can build a trusting relationship with them? Did they truly listen to you?
Remember: It’s absolutely okay to ask them plenty of questions, and then decide not to proceed. The process is all about finding someone who’s the right fit for you.
My journey into psychotherapy was driven by a deep passion for helping people unlock their fullest potential. I have personally experienced the transformative power of therapy and have witnessed its profound impact on the lives of those I support.
As a licensed psychotherapist and former Head of the Department for Mental Health at a leading international non-governmental organisation, I bring 22 years and thousands of hours of extensive clinical experience working with individuals and professionals. My practice is rooted in a commitment to fostering growth, resilience, and meaningful change.
Experienced Hands: I have extensive experience working on a diverse range of issues, including working in crisis settings and managing mental health services for people with complex needs, so I can be trusted to support you.
Qualifications: I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and a Postgraduate Qualification in Intercultural Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, both from the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust in London. I also have a number of other trainings, including CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy), Trauma Informed Care, and Gender, Diversity & Intersectionality.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I work in an open-ended, client-led way that means you decide how long, or how short the work we do together is, and what subjects to cover.
I work predominately on-line for UK and international clients, or we can meet face-to-face at my practice room in Sutton, London
